This week, drivers across the region can expect a mix of delays, detours, and maintenance work as transportation crews tackle routine construction and improvement projects. From road closures to lane shifts, it's crucial to stay informed and plan ahead to navigate these changes efficiently. Here's a breakdown of some key traffic alerts and construction updates across various counties.

Montgomery County

  • Wagner-Ford Road Ramp Closure: The entrance and exit ramps at Wagner-Ford Road to I-75 North will be closed starting Monday, May 4, for approximately 60 days. This closure is necessary to reconstruct I-75 in this area. Detour: I-75 North to Stanley Ave. to Keowee St. to Dixie Dr.
  • I-75 Traffic Shift: Northbound traffic will shift the center and right lanes to the left side of I-75 North, with the leftmost northbound lane crossing over into a contraflow lane on the southbound side, just north of Ohio 4 and Ohio 48/Main Street. This setup will continue through 2026.
  • Dryden Road Ramp Closure: The entrance and exit ramps at Dryden Road and I-75 South will be closed starting overnight on Friday, May 15, through the early hours of Monday, May 18. Detour: I-75 South to E. Dixie Drive to I-75 North to Dryden Road.
  • Interstate 70 Lane Restrictions: I-70 in each direction will have intermittent overnight lane restrictions between I-75 and the Montgomery/Clark County Line from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 15. Crews will be working to patch the roadway.
  • Wayne Avenue Ramp Restrictions: The Wayne Avenue ramp onto U.S. 35 West will have shoulder restrictions starting Sunday, April 26, through May 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a single travel lane. Crews will be painting the bridge overhead.
  • Keowee Street Closure: Keowee Street under U.S. 35 will be reduced to a single lane starting Monday, March 30, through May 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a single lane in each direction. Crews will be painting the bridge overhead.
  • I-675 Lane Restriction: I-675 North at Haddix Road will have right (outside) shoulder closures starting Sunday, April 26, through May 2026. Crews will be working on the bridge overhead.
  • Woodman Drive Lane/Shoulder Closures: Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Woodman Drive between U.S. 35 and Sunberry Drive. The right-most turn lane from Woodman Drive to U.S. 35 West will be closed starting Monday, June 16, until Summer 2026. Detour: Eastman Drive to Spinning Road to Burkhardt Road.
  • Ohio 725 Lane Closure: Expect a single right-lane closure on Ohio 725 eastbound under I-75 starting Monday, November 24, through Spring 2026. Traffic will be maintained with two lanes. Crews are working on pedestrian improvements.
  • I-75 Ramp Closure: The ramp from I-75 South to U.S. 35 East will be closed starting overnight on Tuesday, May 19, through the night of Wednesday, May 20. Detour: I-75 South to U.S. 35 West to James H. McGee Blvd. to U.S. 35 East.

Warren County

  • Ohio 73 Turn-Lane Addition and Resurfacing: Between Red Lion-Five Points Road and Harveysburg Road, as well as the installation of a left-turn lane on Ohio 73 at Old Ohio 73 near Waynesville. Work was scheduled to begin Monday, May 4, with guardrail replacement and turn lane construction. Traffic will be maintained in one lane in either direction with the use of flaggers and/or other traffic control devices.
  • Ohio 123 Paving/Chip-Seal: Between Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road and Ohio 350. Preliminary work is under way. Traffic will be maintained in a 12-foot lane during daytime working hours, daily from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the use of flaggers and/or traffic control devices.
  • U.S. 42/Glosser Road Roundabout: The city of Lebanon plans to construct a roundabout at the intersection of U.S. 42 and Glosser Road at the city's southern corporation limit. Glosser Road will be closed April 13-July 27. U.S. 42 will remain open, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers.
  • U.S. 42 Signal Installation and Road Realignment: Lane restrictions are in effect from about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on U.S. 42 at the intersection with Corwin Avenue/North Street in Waynesville. Right turn only signs and barrels were installed on Corwin Avenue and North Street to prevent left turns onto U.S. 42 during construction, which is expected to end in September.
  • Ohio 48 Signalization: The Warren County Transportation Improvement District will install a new traffic signal at the Ohio 48 intersection and Interstate 71 southbound ramps in South Lebanon. Construction also includes extending the northbound Ohio 48 left-turn lane to I-71 South and widening Ohio 48 North through the intersection. Traffic changes have been implemented in both directions at the Ohio 48 North and South exit/entrance ramps to I-71 North and South, with traffic being maintained in shifted lanes. Additional restrictions may be in effect throughout the project.
  • Ohio 48 Lane Closures: Single-lane closures will be in effect on Ohio 48 North and South, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Monday, May 11, for approximately two weeks for paving. This will be followed by single-lane closures on the ramp from I-71 North to Ohio 48 North, daily from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and the ramp from Ohio 48 to I-71 South, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Full ramp closures may occur while crews are working on either ramp, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
